It’s no surprise to me that Dior Sauvage is Johnny Depp’s favourite fragrance. According to a report from Marie Claire, Dior Sauvage was the best-selling fragrance of 2021, with a bottle being purchased every three seconds. 

In other words, Sauvage is basically the world’s favourite fragrance!

Eau Sauvage really hits you with the freshness of citrus, with rosemary and basil notes taking a little longer to develop. To me, the base has a classic chypre foundation, with mossy, earthy undertones. 

I think it’s a really solid choice for Depp, and a great choice for middle-aged men.

All in all, it’s a wonderful masculine, woody option for those who prefer a slightly softer olfactory profile.

Bleu de Chanel

Chanel and Dior have always been neck and neck as far as luxury fragrances are concerned, and Bleu de Chanel stands as a testament to this competition. 

A true contender against Dior Homme, it offers a fresh, clean, and profoundly sensual aroma. The surprising note of pineapple not only adds a unique fruity twist to the scent but I’m convinced it also pushes the longevity of the fragrance over the 8-hour mark. 

As it progresses, notes of incense, cedar, and sandalwood come out, adding a lot of depth.
