Whether you’re an established fragrance connoisseur or a rookie seeking that signature scent, this list is your go-to resource.
Stick around, and I’ll walk you through the best long lasting perfumes for women of 2023, their unique characteristics, and why they made it onto my list.
1. Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Forte Nerolia Vetiver
I recently tested Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Forte Nerolia Vetiver at Selfridges, and it left quite the impression.
When I stood at the fragrance counter, its citrus scent immediately stood out in the best way possible. As someone who has a weakness for a well-crafted vetiver fragrance, I couldn’t resist buying it.
The initial burst of neroli’s freshness evolves nicely, enhanced by delicate notes of fig leaves and milky fig pulp. As time goes on, you’ll notice a creamy woodiness that beautifully mingles with the natural white floral notes.
2. Dior Joy Eau de Parfum Intense
I recently walked past someone in the grocery store wearing Dior Joy Eau de Parfum Intense and from at least 3 to 4 feet away I picked up the dominant yet lovely vanilla notes.
For me, it surpasses the original Joy fragrance, boasting an aromatic woody-tonka bean accord that adds depth and allure. The intensified notes create a stronger, sweeter, and creamier floral experience, perfect for daily use.
3. Escentric Molecule Molecule 01
Escentric Molecules’ Molecule 01 has caused a phenomenon not too dissimilar to the blue-black-or-white-gold dress viral debate back in 2015.
Admittedly, I used to think Molecule 01 smelled like the definition of nothingness, but I’ve since realised that it’s a fragrant chameleon.
Consisting of a single note, Iso E Super, Molecule 01 defies seasonal boundaries and fits any occasion, promising a universally inoffensive choice.
4. Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb
I’ve been really impressed by Flowerbomb’s longevity recently. It hardly seems to fade all day. If I wear it in the evening, I can usually still smell it in the morning (providing I haven’t gone noseblind).
Its sillage is equally impressive; a few spritzes radiate elegantly, captivating those around you.
Though perhaps not suited for beach days or casual outings, its night-worthy. Flowerbomb is a top long lasting perfume for those seeking a modern, grown-up gourmand scent.
5. Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum
Flower aficionados will delight in Gucci Bloom, which is versatile enough to grace formal soirées or casual outings. While a few friends find its linear nature a bit too sweet, I appreciate its consistency.
The longevity and sillage are commendable. I also love the packaging, boasting a chic and modern design that complements its luxurious aroma.
6. Gucci Guilty Intense Pour Femme Eau de Parfum
Gucci Guilty Intense definitely passes the longevity test. Even post-shower, I could still smell it on my skin.
While reminiscent of Tom Ford Black Orchid, this fragrance boasts a distinct femininity, making it my top recommendation for those seeking a balance between fruity and truffle-like accords.
For daily wear, a mere couple of sprays suffice, while for special occasions, I recommend being a bit more liberal.
7. Creed Wind Flowers
While youthful in nature, Wind Flowers is far from juvenile, emanating a classy aura suitable for daily wear.
Delicate, sweet white florals grace your senses, accompanied by a subtle hint of bitterness and greenness. The background notes of peach lend a touch of juiciness, creating a harmonious blend.
But it’s worth pointing out that the dry down carries a distinct aftershave vibe, intermingled with masculine and green undertones. If you’re don’t like masculine scents, this one may not be for you.
8. Tom Ford Noir Pour Femme
Scrumptious, warm, and complex, this scent has an intriguing touch of patchouli. A unique kulfi accord infuses the perfume with a milky, creamy nuance.
However, it’s not just a sweet scent; it balances the sugar with layers of citrus, spices, flowers, resins, and sandalwood.
What sets this fragrance apart is its versatility—while feminine in nature, its smooth blend and a bitter-sweet note reminiscent of dark chocolate make it suitable for both men and women.
9. Thierry Mugler Alien Eau de Parfum
Anytime I walk past someone, even from a few feet away in the middle of the street, I always notice Thierry Mugler’s Alien.
A sensual oriental masterpiece, it’s easy to see why this signature scent never fails to garner compliments. It’s a go-to scent for so many women. Invoking sexiness, mystery, and opulence.
It’s not one to blind buy though – I recommend trying it on the skin before committing to purchase.
10. YSL Libre Eau de Parfum
Confident and alluring, YSL Libre’s ability to maintain its charm over time is impressive, making it a reliable choice for various occasions.
Whether embracing its lovely vanilla and orange blossom notes or experiencing its delicate floral nuances, the fragrance continues to enchant with its enduring presence.
This one’s a real crowd-pleaser suitable for everyday wear or special moments.
11. Zara Red Temptation Eau de Parfum
Known for its stunning similarity to high-end fragrances like BR540 and Another 13, Zara Red Temptation is a great dupe.
Lasting more than a day but not overpowering, it’s suitable for lighter, everyday use.
12. Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium
Black Opium is a perennial favourite, perfect for the fall and winter seasons.
Its initial mysterious darkness gradually unveils a sweet and pretty vanilla note that adds to its feminine charm with a touch of personality.
While its silage is average, the unique and complex layers create an unmistakable aura.
It generally lasts around 4-6 hours on my skin.
13. Liz Earle Botanical Essence No.15
A versatile autumn-winter staple, Liz Earle Botanical Essence No. 15 offers a warm and opulent experience, if inoffensive.
Initial notes of pink pepper, bergamot, and sandalwood give way to a comforting heart of benzoin, elemi, cedar, and vanilla, evoking a soothing embrace.
Take it from me, Essence No.15 is a strong long lasting perfume, offering around 8 hours with an intimate to moderate sillage.
14. Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de Parfum
It may be on the pricier side, but with good reason.
Baccarat Rouge 540 is the type of scent that will linger on your mind for hours after it fades. It’s a statement-making, compliment-getting beast mode fragrance that’s perfect for the fall and winter.
Metallic, sweet and salty, I’m not underexaggerating when I say this is a masterpiece of modern perfumery that stands out from the rest, with high-quality ingredients and unisex appeal.
15. Michael Kors Super Gorgeous!
Whenever I spray Super Gorgeous!, I always feel cool and mysterious. Some fragrances really do boost your confidence and this is one of them.
Unisex and perfect for fall, tobacco and myrrh add a divine twist.
16. Hugo Boss The Scent Le Parfum For Her
Hugo Boss’ The Scent is one of the most long-lasting perfumes on this list. When I tested it, The Scent Le Parfum lasted around 9 hours on my skin.
Warm, inoffensive, and versatile, it’s perfect for fall or winter, garners compliments and adds extra confidence.
I just wish it had a more imaginative name to live up to the fragrance.
17. Thierry Mugler Angel Eau de Parfum
If you’re looking for a winter fragrance that lasts all day, Alien needs to make its way onto your perfume shelf.
It’s great for evening wear, feminine and edgy with a unisex appeal.
18. Huda Beauty Kayali Vanilla 28 Eau de Parfum
Huda Beauty Kayali Vanilla 28 Eau de Parfum sets itself apart with its classy brown sugar notes, accompanied by a boozy and intoxicating aroma. This fragrance boasts a stunning, authentic vanilla scent that feels far from synthetic.
A single spray is potent enough to last the entire day.
19. Estée Lauder Modern Muse
Modern Muse unfolds with a warm blend of honeysuckle and musk during the dry down, elegantly complemented by clean notes of white flowers. The bouquet is well-balanced, featuring harmonious interplay among lily, honeysuckle, tuberose, and jasmine.
This perfume not only boasts good quality but also exudes a sleek, modern essence that’s effortlessly chic.
20. Frédéric Malle Portrait of a Lady Eau de Parfum
Frédéric Malle Portrait of a Lady Eau is a majestic and regal scent that’s amazingly strong and long-lasting. I’d describe it as a bold and spicy rose fragrance with velvety incense and earthy patchouli.
The secret weapon: a stunning drydown that gets compliments. Guys will definitely notice your perfume while you’re wearing Portrait of a Lady EDP.
21. Givenchy Dahlia Divin
Givenchy Dahlia Divin offers sweet notes but I don’t find it overwhelming.
At its heart Dahlia Divin is a creamy, soft, white flower day fragrance. The complexity of this scent is deceptively hidden, with subtle notes of exquisite jasmine and smooth sandalwood.
To top it all off, the perfume comes in a beautifully designed bottle with a tightly fitted cap, adding that extra touch of luxury.
22. Tom Ford Black Orchid Eau de Parfum
Black Orchid is perfectly smooth, never harsh, and incredibly flattering. It’s generally a crowd-pleaser, although that’s partly because it’s not a risky scent (despite what the name might have you believe).
That said, there’s nothing wrong with going with a safe bet.
23. Coco Chanel Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum
A classic in the perfume world, Coco Chanel Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum is a long-lasting fragrance that balances freshness with a citrusy zest and a unique combination of sweetness and roses.
Even the women in my life who aren’t fond of floral scents find themselves drawn to Mademoiselle.
24. Dolce & Gabbana The Only One
Dolce & Gabbana’s The Only One is a rich, seductive fragrance that I find so intriguing, delightful and outright delicious.
Gourmand notes like modern iris are blended to perfection for high performance and a fresh, captivating outcome.
25. Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir
With a blend of tart and juicy notes, this perfume’s pomegranate core provides an unexpected yet delightful twist, making it a darkly feminine fragrance.
A few sprays can last you an entire evening, which is a big tick in my book. It just might be one of the most long-lasting women’s’ perfumes I’ve ever come across.
26. Creed Aventus For Her
Creed Aventus for Her is a force to be reckoned with, a burst of energy and revitalization.
It is a fresh and fruity strong women’s perfume crafted from top-quality ingredients.
I definitely think it has a sweetness to it, but the scent is balanced with a touch of masculine muskiness – don’t say I didn’t warn you.
27. Dior Hypnotic Poision
Full disclosure: I find Dior Hypnotic Poison slightly too sickly for my tastes, but it really does last all day.
Lovers of sweet, creamy and warm perfumes will really love this scent.
