Velvet Oud is a distinctive fragrance, packing all the punch you’d expect from a luxury scent. It’s priced on the higher end, but it feels justified for how well it performs – one or two sprays is realistically more than enough to get you through the day.
The initial oud blast can be overwhelming for some, veering into overly smoky territory. But the dry down? Perfection.
It transitions into a softer, more wearable scent that’s rich with depth and intrigue.
For now, I would still be more inclined to recommend Tom Ford’s Oud Wood or Diptyque’s Oud Palao for their smoother blend.
But if you’re in the market for something that makes a bold statement and evolves beautifully on the skin, Velvet Oud isn’t a bad shout.
So, that’s my take on Velvet Oud. But what about you?
